Testimony

I cannot recommend Milky Way breastfeeding tea enough. I went from barely getting 20ml every morning pumping from both sides to 180ml from one side. Not to mention how much more content my baby is. It’s delicious and so easy to drink. Couldn’t be happier with the results and recommend it to every single mumma who’s breastfeeding.

What others have to say…

I drank both the Pregnancy Wellbeing Tea and Postnatal Restorative tea and loved them both. Jodi's tea came to the rescue when I had a low milk supply. I noticed a significant difference after drinking Milky Way tea. I can’t wait to get more!

This tea is my fav!! I’ve been making a jug of it at night before I head to bed, and let it ‘brew’ all night. I then have a liter of this delicious cold tea to sip on all day. I love that as well as being refreshing, it is so beneficial for my milk supply! Highly recommend this tea, it's a game changer!!

Loooove Milky Way Breastfeeding Tea. Since it’s so hot, I make a big jug of iced tea and drink it daily. Having an extra boost to my milk supply for feeding my 1 year old is fantastic.

My most favourite tea ever! I actually need to order some more. I tandem feed two babies and have been drinking this for two years. Along the way I have tried a few other brands however nothing beats Jodi’s teas! They’re beautiful and absolutely delicious.

I love this tea, it’s next level TOP 2 for me and I’m also a big huge supporter of local Women in Business and Jodi is kicking some sweet goals. Btw I have mine chilled with ice and mineral water this is now my new sparkling afternoon "pick me up go to tea".

About these organic ingredients

Dictionary definition of galactagogue: a food or drug that promotes or increases the flow of a mother's milk.

Goat’s rue (Galega officinalis) is one of the most potent herbs believed to build milk supply and mammary tissue if needed. For this reason, it can be particularly helpful for women who did not experience an increase in breast size during pregnancy, women who have had breast surgeries, and women who simply need more volume of milk. Goats rue is often recommended by lactation consultants!

Aniseed (Pimpinella anisum) a galactagogue which contains phytoestrogen. Anise is also known for its ability to help relieve gas and colic in babies.

Fennel Seed (Foeniculum vulgare) a well known galactagogue, studies suggest fennel increases the hormone prolactin which is a vital hormone in breastfeeding mums. Fennel has also been found to be extremely helpful in relieving gas and colic in babies.

Shatavari  (Asparagus racemosus) a well-known galactagogue in Ayurvedic medical practices. Research suggests Shatavari helps mums produce more prolactin and corticoids, which will improve the quality of breast milk and generate more of it.

Ginger (Zingiber officinale) a delicious galactagogue and wonderful digestion aid for both mother and baby.

Rosehips (Rosa canina) a herb rich in Vitamin C, supporting milk production and iron absorption.

Hibiscus (Hibiscus sabdariffa) a beautiful, tasty, flowering herb which gives this tea it’s beautiful colour and uplifting taste. Hibiscus flowers are also known for their powerful antioxidants.

Calendula (Calendula officinalis) another beautiful flowering herb known for its antioxidants and healing properties.

How to Brew Your tea?

I personally like my tea strong in flavour, I use 1 generous teaspoon of herbs per cup and allow it to brew for a good 10 minutes. For those who like a gentle flavoured tea, brew only 5 minutes. You can brew your tea herbs twice as the majority of the herbs in my teas are Australian grown which provides a far superior herbal tea which is why the tea is still delicious on the second brew.

The longer brewing time allows the herbs to release their full flavour and beneficial value. For the most therapeutic benefit brew your tea over night which allows 8 hours for the herbs to release all their goodness.

Another fun way to brew tea is “sun brewing”. A gentle process protecting the vitamin and mineral content of the herbs. Place ¼ cup of herbs in a litre jar, cover the herbs with water and give them a good shake. Cover the jar with a dark cloth and leave the brew in the sun for the day.

Drink daily 1-4 cups or as desired.

Why I created Milky Way Breastfeeding Tea?

Breastfeeding is a demanding task for the human body and many women find they need extra support to help them not only nutritionally but also emotionally.

I believe the simple act of drinking high quality organic, herbal tea can be just that little extra thing to help a mum get through the day with a smile on her face. I believe in using the best quality herbs I can source, many of which are grown in Australia giving my tea it's fresh tasting and health giving qualities.
